MOVE IN/OUT PROCEDURES
To ensure the move-in/out process is organised with minimal disruption to other residents and all common areas are protected against damage, each move-in must be pre-booked with a maximum 4-hour period allowed. As the lift cannot be locked off for exclusive use during a move, it is important that your removalists are made aware of this prior and understand the process to minimise any risk of damage to the lift and inconveniencing other residents.
Your removalist should provide written proof of their public liability insurance (e.g., a Certificate of Currency) to you prior to the move, as ultimately, you will be responsible for any damages to common property including the lift. Confirmation of the specific time and duration for the move – (4 hours max in most cases) should be communicated to the building manager at least 3 days prior to the move. It is your responsibility to inspect common walls and flooring with your removalists and record any damage prior to them commencing work.
Please ensure your removalists are aware of the following:
1. Instruct your movers to park nose in towards the roller door and to be careful not to hit any part of the building or gate, and as close to the L/H wall as safely possible (where it says no standing).
2. Unload the truck through the pedestrian access point or front entrance, this gate should be chocked open using something heavy and not on its hinge as it can be difficult to then close.
3. Load should then be organised in the foyer, out of the main walkway, prior to loading the lift, DO NOT LEAN OR PLACE ANY ITEM ON THE FOYER FURNITURE. The lift does not have the ability to be locked off, which is why it's important that the movers organise each load in the foyer and not continually hold the lift doors open as this will lead to the lifts failing and you will incur the callout fee from OTIS
4. Any items too large for the lift should fit using the fire stairs, also located in the foyer and your apartment key will unlock this door as well as the door to the level your apartment is located on.
